Rating the condition of golf equipment is something we’ve been doing for a long time, so we think we’ve got pretty good at it!  We’ve put together a condition rating guide so that you can get a better idea of the relative condition of clubs for sale in our store and how to rate clubs you are looking to sell to us.

All clubs that we purchase are closely inspected by our professional team before being photographed.  This is to ensure that we accurately depict the items condition within the description and include photos of any additional marks or imperfections that we think you 'the customer' would want to see.  We always put ourselves in your shoes so that you’re completely satisfied with your purchase when it arrives at your door.

Inspecting and photographing pre-owned golf equipment

When you’re selling golf equipment to us, please make sure that you represent the condition of your item accurately.  Our club quotes are only valid if the condition and specification you have provided accurately represent the item/s you are looking to sell.  If on receipt of the item the condition or specification do not match the information or rating you have provided then the quote will be adjusted accordingly.  If you are not satisfied with the adjusted quote then we will arrange for the items to be returned to you which will incur a £10 charge to cover postage both ways.

Would almost pass as new but for almost imperceptible signs of use. It is likely to have been used less than a handful of times.

8/10 - Very good condition

Only minimal signs of use and extremely well maintained. There are no obvious marks and any imperfections will be very light.

7/10 - Good condition

Evidence of play but has been well maintained by its owner. There are no major marks or paint chips but some light marks are visible.

6/10 - Fair condition

More obvious marks are visible indicating a fair amount of use for a reasonable amount of time. Small paint chips and or marks on the crown, back or sole of the club are evident.  Forged Iron's may have small dinks on the sole.

5/10 - Well used condition

Clearly visible marks from plenty of play.  Scratches, paint chips and sky marks may be evident. Not as well a maintained as a fair condition club but its performance is unaffected.

Please note:

We do not buy or sell clubs with a head condition rating below 5.  We would consider any club with a crack or dent to be below 5 as performance can be compromised.
