What golf driver should I buy? What’s the best driver for distance? Should I use a fairway wood or a hybrid? What irons are good for my handicap? What’s the best golf equipment for my budget?
These are just some of the questions that we can ask ourselves at almost any level of this ever enjoyable and equally challenging sport! It is understandable that these same questions can be just as hard to answer without a somewhat in-depth knowledge about golf equipment.
Our team are here to help
For that is why PGA Professionals and enthusiastic golfers like us here at Replay Golf are on-hand to guide you through the vast selection of golf clubs and technology that are out on the market today.
How can we help you find what you’re looking for? This is what this article is all about so whether you call us for advice or visit us in our Aladdin’s Cave of goods, this is the customer journey you can expect to experience.
What golf equipment are you using and why are you looking to change?
Before we start talking about what equipment we’ll have in stock that may help your game, our first port of call is to understand what club(s) you are looking to replace and why? Are you coming into the store looking to upgrade your driver because your current gamer is too inaccurate, doesn’t go as far as you would like, you just fancy a change or perhaps all three?!
Understanding what you’re looking to change, will help us identify if the club is already helping you or hindering your desire to change. For example, there are some driver club heads that are shaped in such a way to encourage the golf ball to fly on the higher side versus drivers that are shaped and weighted to produce a more penetrative flight. Perhaps you want to see the golf ball fly higher, yet you have a driver club head that is designed to produce a lower ball flight. This is where a switch to a differently designed club head can help you straight away.
There are other clubs which are then biased towards certain shot shapes as well. For example, if your miss is off to the right, there are models of drivers that are designed to counter against this shot shape. You may have a draw-biased driver but still see a slice as your bad shot. Now whilst there is only so much the club can do (!), perhaps it’s the shaft in the golf club that may not be suitable for you that is then causing issues.
These are the types of things we can ascertain by understanding what you are currently using.
Tell us about your golf
The second piece of the puzzle is to then understand as much about you, the golfer, as possible, in the time we have together. How long have you been playing golf? How far is your average carry with a 7 iron in normal, summer conditions? Are you having golf lessons? Do you have any injuries? Where do you see your golf in the next 12 to 18 months?
Understanding your tendencies, the course(s) you typically play, how often you play, are all facets of information that help us build a profile of what's important to your game and ultimately, how we can help you. It’s through asking the right questions that can help us narrow down something for you.
Golf equipment knowledge
How do we then move forward after all of this? We combine the above with the vast knowledge that the team have at Replay Golf. Comprised of PGA Professionals, some of whom have taught golf for many years and fitted golf equipment for golfers at prestigious golf clubs or even worked on tour, as well as golfing enthusiasts and plus-figure golfers. Having a great catalogue of product knowledge and the ability to apply this to the real world of what you do as the golfer, is how we can help you find your next gamer.
So, whether you’re looking to change your driver or your putter, or anything in between, we’re confident we can help you find what you need, as well as providing you with a very enjoyable experience at the same time.
